Dear mom,
I am writing this so that you can know how much I want a pool. Please don’t say no when you finish reading this. I want you to know how nice it would be if we could have a pool to ourselves and why.
I know that usually we have to share a pool with the whole neighborhood in the same community pool. Since now there is covid 19, we have to do social distancing. In the pool there are many people and one could be sick. The worst part is that they took away the chairs and the umbrellas, so we have to carry towels, chairs, umbrellas, and floaties to the pool. When I bring floaties to the community pool other people often start playing with them without asking. I have to get it back by myself. On hot days I ride my bike to the pool, and I get really sweaty. I don’t like getting sweaty because I get all slippery, and my goggles can’t stay on for long.
However If we had a pool to ourselves we could just walk to the backyard and jump in. In our own pool there would be no adult time, and we could play as long as we wanted without being disturbed. When me and Andrew have play dates with our friends, we often get bored. If we get a pool we will not get bored so easily. Instead we could be splashing in the water. If we had a pool in the backyard it would be like we were on an endless vacation at home. I know that you want me to exercise to grow taller, and the pool can help. In the pool I can swim laps around it. Swimming is great exercise and can help me grow strong.Usually I am not hungry when we eat dinner. If we had a pool I could swim in in the afternoon, and after I would be hungry. Our family would spend more time together and have much more fun in the pool. I know that it costs a lot of money to go on a boat ride. We could get a big floaty and pretend that it was a boat. That way we will save our money.
I know that you worry that keeping the pool clean is going to be too hard, and that I will spend to much time in the pool, and won’t study, so I promise you that I will help you take the leaves and bugs out of the water every day, and I promise to finish my homework before playing. I hope you can understand how I feel. I Thank you.
Sincerely
Mia

Dear, Mia
Sorry, we still can’t have a pool. The pool is way too expensive. Making it even worse COVID-19. If we had a pool we would have to have direct contact with that person we could get COVID -19 and pool opener and closer in the winter are also contact. Also, we could get out of business so were saving money. If there wasn’t COVID-19 we may buy a pool, but since there is no. Also, this is NOT about learning so no, you would read and do math problems, not to play. My final answer is no. But, when COVID-19 is over maybe you can give me another letter and I’ll decide.

Sincerely,
Jason

Dear Mia,

I am sorry we can’t have the pool. It will be extremely hard to take care of. It is even worse, because there is the COVID 19. We will really need help to dig the pool, but due to the Covid 19, we can’t.

Sincerely,

Your Mom

Dear Mia,
My answer is no. Getting a pool is very expensive. But we do not need to pay for the community pool. Because of the Coronavirus we not let your friends come and play. My answer is no. But I might buy it after the Coronavirus ends.

Dear Mia,

I’m sorry we can’t have a pool. A pool would be way to expensive and especially where there is covid -19. If you really want a pool, we or a person that would want help us dig out the place for a pool. None of us would really want that tiring work plus we don’t want to get contact with people.

Sincerely,
Vivian

Dear Parents,
I know that the covid 19 is still happening and you think that we can’t go camping well. Everybody might think that if we go right now it won’t be as crowded as usual. We can go hiking and spend time as a family. It will also teach Eva and Elanie more about nature. Also, if we go camping we don’t have to spend a lot of money on a hotel instead we can just set up a tent. Please reconsider going camping.

Form,
Ethan

Dear Ethan,
I really want to go camping too, but since there is Covid 19 we can’t go right now. Maybe when covid 19 is over we can talk about it. If we do social distancing maybe we will be safe. Another thing, if we were to set up a tent it would take a long time. If you want to camp, you will have to help us set up the tent.
sincerely,
Mia

Dear Ethan,

I am sorry we can’t go camping. It will be really hard to take care of the family due to the Covid 19. Maybe when the Covid 19 is over we can discuss about it. We can probably camp out at our backyard, Me and your dad will discuss about it.

With love,

Your Mom

Dear Ethan,
You may have a camping trip but you must be very careful listen to us at all times. And you must help make food set up the tents and all the other stuff we have to do. If you do you may have a camping trip with your friends.

Dear mom,

I know we’ve talked about this before, but I want an iPhone. Can you please give me one. You know what it feels like to not have your iPhone around. Also, like if I want to learn and don’t have a device how can I get on to my homework since technology is advancing. Also, I’m already 9 years and10 months old. People in our class have iPhones. I also want to read on my Iphone since there are no books. Also, I want to do math too. Jay Donavon. What is the average age for a child to have a smartphone? https://techcrunch.com/2016/05/19/the-average-age-for-a-child-getting-their-first-smartphone-is-now-10-3-years/. Says “ The average age for a child getting their first smartphone is now 10.3 years.” Retrieved 2020/7/10. Can I please have an Iphone. I will do better at school since I can search, things up for a better explanation. I won’t cheat on tests since I won’t even bring my phone on test days. I also love Raz-kids and sometimes my brother is using it to read and I can read so when I have a phone I can read. Please take the time to look at my writing and approve it.

Sincerely,

Dear Jason,
My answer is no. if I gave you an iphone you will download all kinds of wacky things on it. I fear that if you play on it too much, you will need glasses or contacts sooner than other kids. You may use the computers to study all you want. When you are older I might consider buying you one.
sincerely,
Mia

Dear Jason,

I think you can probably wait until you are ten years old. Taking care of a phone is also pretty hard. You have to make sure not to drop into any bodies of water, not let fall out of your hands and not make it disabled forever. We can discuss it when you are older. You will have to show me how you will control yourself not to download any games. You can download learning games that is around you age, but you will have to ask me first.

Sincerely,

Your Mom

Dear Jason,
I think now would be good for you to have iphone. But, you must “protect” your phone. Try not to drop your phone in water and other stuff. Also if I see that your iphone has games on it, I will take it away.

Sincerely,
Vivian

Dear Mom and Dad,

I really want a phone. I promise I will not download any games without your permission. I will also not spend all day on it. I will control myself from getting onto the phone. I will follow the rules you made. I will spend approximately thirty minutes on the phone. On the phone, I will only do research for homework, or other stuff, listen to music, or do schoolwork. I will not text my friends, but I will text you guys when there are any problems. I will make sure that my brothers won’t get it. I will take good care of the phone. I will feel really happy and excited if you guys will give me a phone, but if not, then I will not be that happy. But I can still wait until I am old enough to have a phone. If you guys can’t give me a phone, then I will want to have a dog. I will take good care of the dog. I will buy its food, water, toys, bed, collar, and leash. I will walk the dog about three to four times a week. Again I will be very happy if I have a dog, but not that happy if I don’t get a dog. I will be glad to have any of those. Please write back to me as soon as possible.

Your daughter,

Olivia

Dear Olivia,
Sorry, I want you to focus on your school and sleep. NOT walking a dog at 4. You have school at 7. 3 to four times there are only Saturday and Sunday. Also, if you were to walk a dog 2 times a day he might get bored and may get tired. Another thing is you can’t walk a dog if we’re going out. You can’t bring a dog and the dog will get sick if you don’t get it excise. This is a big responsibility. When your older you can by a dog by buying it. Also, you have to vacuum every day and also go to school, you going to sleep at 11. It will get messy and fur all around. First, approve to me that you can get your dog back in the neighbor’s yard or lost. Also, you have to buy a security camera to watch the dog. Do You do not have the money? So grow up get money. Then, have a dog. At school? No way. YOU CAN NOT HAVE A DOG. That is my final answer.
Sincerely,
Jason

Dear Olivia,
I agree you may have a phone but you must do everything you promised in the letter or I will take the phone back. If you do all of them for one month I will let you keep the phone but if you don’t you will not get it.

dear Olivia,
i think getting a dog is too much work. they shed all over, and you will have too much homework to take care of it. also, they slobber all over and if your nieghbour gets a dog, they will fight. so, the answer to getting a dog is no.

Dear Mom,
All summer I have been very lonely because of the coronavirus. I cannot go on vacation. I cannot see my friends very often. And I cannot go outside a lot. Would you please buy me the Minecraft game? I have been a very good boy in the last few months. I have done programming, writing, math, reading, chess, typing, and piano practice everyday. I have learned more about Scratch, machine learning, python, and chess. I have done several interesting and fun programming projects. On Fathers’ Day, I created a short film for dad. In that film, the ocean animals gathered together to defeat the bad people who were trying to destroy the coral in the ocean. On my grandma’s birthday, I created her a birthday project with me singing Happy Birthday while the Scratch sprites were dancing. On the last day of machine learning class, I created a Pokemon project of Pikachu and Greeninja fighting. I would call the attacks, they would respond by starting to attack and lower the other Pokemons health bar. I have read a few different books. One of the books was Pax, which was about a boy trying to find his fox. Goblin Secrets was about a boy and a group of goblins trying to find the boy’s brother. And Here in the Real World was about a boy and a girl having a summer vacation. I have done new math problems. Would you please buy the game for me? Minecraft can help me type faster, about which I need to write stories. I can build towers, skyscrapers, houses, and compasses in it. I can fight monsters and zombies. It has a lot of varieties, sometimes it is peaceful and sometimes it is intense. I can also get company by playing with my friends. I can create different servers, maybe I can make a server that lets me use superpowers or maybe I can let it make me go out in space. It would be lots and lots of fun to play Minecraft. I would really like it if you buy it for me. I would thank you a lot. I promise I will not play too much. I will still do my homework and keep learning.

Love,
Pericles

Dear Pericles,
Sorry, dad says no. Dad has played Minecraft before and you have to spend even more money to get superpowers, Dragons, Space. And it is a lot. You can buy it by doing chores and earning money to do it by yourself. Also, you cannot play for too long. Homework first, then playing outdoors then sleep then Minecraft.
Sincerely,
Jason ♥♥

dear pericles,
i have played minecraft before and it is very addicting. and you will have a urge to use money to buy things like a different resource pack, or something. also, you get very addicted. even if you are not playing, but you are thinking about it, that is worse than playing. trust me, it is very addicting. sorry, but i think you already had enough screen time, and you do not need more. you may not get minecraft.

Dear Pericles,

I think you may have Minecraft. You had spent a lot of effort on learning these days. I think you have improved a lot these past few months, but you promised me that you won’t play Minecraft to long. I will let you play only fifteen to thirty minutes per day, but only when you are done with everything on you list everyday.

Sincerely,

Your Mom
