Bow Of White

By Kenneth

Snow lived in a palace. But it wasn’t an ordinary palace. You see, Snow is a princess that lives in a Special snow castle. The snow couldn’t melt. She lived with Queen Mary I, King Michael III, and a maid named Betty. The maid was actually Snow’s sister. She wanted to be the princess but, not a maid.

One day, she went to ask her parents, the king and queen, why she couldn’t be the princess. She said,”Why does Snow get to be the princess but I have to be the maid?!” Her voice was so loud it echoed like a wolf howling in a long tunnel. The king and queen were so shocked to see her so mad. The queen said in a gentle voice, “Well, you are older and you have to do more work.” Betty tried to argue, “But–” she was interrupted by a familiar voice. It was Snow. She yelled in excitement, “The prince has a ball tonight, can I go?”

Betty was so surprised by the news, she even asked if she could go. The king and queen thought for a while. Then, they said, “Yes, you may go, Snow.” “What?!” said Betty. The queen said, “Because she is the princess.” Betty didn’t know what to say after that. Betty helped Snow get dressed. She wore a White bow with a White dress.

After about 20 minutes, Snow left. Betty was all by herself in the palace, sad, lonely, and disappointed. She kept thinking to herself, “Why can Snow go but not me?

Suddenly, a fairy godmother appeared. She said, “Are you sad because you can’t go to the ball?” Betty said, “Yeah” “Well,I can help you with that.” Out of nowhere, Betty noticed herself in a beautiful dress also with a white bow. The fairy godmother said, “You have to come back before midnight, though.” Betty also found herself already in the carriage. “Thank you.” Betty said as she left.

When she arrived, the first thing she saw was the handsome prince. She said, “Hi!” The prince was stunned to see such a beautiful girl. She said, “Do you know what time it is?” The prince said, checking his watch, “It is already 11:59, ma’am.” She thought, Oh no. She rushed to get back to her own palace.

Once she arrived, she was out of breath. But then, she noticed she had lost her bow. She lost it on her way back to the palace.

The next morning, there was a knock on the door. Betty went to answer it. It was the the prince. He said, “Did you lose your bow?” She said, “Yes.” He said, “I have gone to many houses to ask, but they say that they don’t have a White bow.” He handed it over. She said,”Thank you.” Then, the prince asked, “Will you marry me?” She said with excitement, “Yes!” She went to tell Snow and her parents. They said,”Sure”

But, at the wedding, the prince wasn’t there. Days later, Betty had learned that the prince was actually evil and wanted to trick her to put a spell on her. She said to her parents, “I definitely do not want to marry a prince like that.” That same day, she had learned a lesson. It was, “You have to be wise and never fall for a trap.”
